Mouse wheel

Principle of mechanical mouse (wheel mouse)

Mechanical mouse is also called semi-optical mouse. Its working principle is: at the bottom of mechanical mouse there is a ball that can roll freely. The front and the right are equipped with two internal encoder rollers with a 90-degree angle. When the mouse is moved, the ball will roll, and it will drive the encoder roller next to it. The front roller represents the forward and backward sliding, and the right roller The axis represents the left and right sliding, and the movement of the two axes together represents the non-vertical and horizontal sliding. From this, the encoder recognizes the distance and position of the mouse movement, generates a corresponding electrical signal and sends it to the computer to determine the correct position of the cursor on the screen.

If the mouse button is pressed, the number of times of pressing and the position of the cursor when pressed will be sent to the computer. After the computer and software receive this signal, they can work accordingly. Among them, the mechanical mouse encoder has two types: organic electric type and photoelectric type. The electromechanical encoder adopts mechanical contact type contacts, which has low precision and is easy to wear. A large number of optical encoders are used, and such a mouse is what we often call an optical mouse.

The purpose of the mouse wheel

Most popular mice on the market have a wheel between the left and right buttons. Its main function is to move the trackwheel to browse forward or backward when browsing IE webpages or texts. This is equivalent to using the mouse to click the upper and lower black triangles of the vertical scroll bar, but it is much more convenient than using the mouse scroll bar. In fact, in addition to these functions, the mouse wheel also has some very interesting functions. Write them down below and share them with you.

When browsing the IE webpage, move the mouse arrow to the webpage and press the trackwheel downwards. With a click, the original mouse arrow has become a four arrows up, down, left, and right. However, if only the vertical scroll bar appears when the web page is displayed, there are only two arrows up and down. At this time, move the mouse wheel and the arrow will move along with it. When the arrow moves out of the edge of the graph, there is only one arrow, and the original four arrows have turned gray, that is, this is the base point for browsing the web. Move the mouse, the content of the webpage will move accordingly, and the scroll bar will move accordingly. The farther the arrow is from the base point graphic, the faster the web content scrolls. If you want to browse the content of the webpage slowly, just move the arrow out to the edge of the graph. At this time, the webpage content will slowly move up or down. Is it convenient and fun? If the graph is four arrows, then you can move in any direction within 360 degrees to browse, if there are only two arrows up and down, then you have to browse up or down. If you don't want to browse in this way, click the trackwheel or the left and right buttons of the mouse to restore to the original state.

This function also works in spreadsheet Excel and word processing software Word2000. The difference is that in the word processing software Word2000, when the track wheel is pressed, the displayed graphics are not at the position of the mouse wheel arrow, but in the vertical scroll bar, that is, the original scroll bar becomes the upper and lower two Arrows and a white line square scroll block. Move the mouse, the white square scroll block will move, and the text will move up or down.
